Heidi, an ex-teacher, is the mother of five children.
As well as being a P.E.T. instructor, she is also an artist and art teacher.
The course comprises 8 lessons of 3 hours each and consists of brief lectures, demonstrations, workbook exercises, role playing and small group discussions.
The next classes in Midrand commence at CROWTHORNE on Monday evening 14 May, 2012, 18:30 to 21:30, and at GLEN AUSTIN: Wednesday morning 16 May, 2012, 09:00 to 12:00, and also on Saturday afternoon 19 may 2012, 14:30 to 17:30. Please contact Heidi for detail.
I have always thought parents have the most important and the most complicated job in the world, and unfortunately they get very little or no training to assist them in this task.
When I heard about Parent Effectiveness Training (P.E.T.) in 1986, I decided to enrol, and the specific relationship skills & communication techniques I learnt during the course taught me how to have loving, respectful and quality relationships with my five children - something for which I am very grateful. My children are a blessing and a joy to me.
I decided to become a P.E.T instructor when I realised how many parents have a great need to improve their relationship with their children. I am passionate to help and equip parents with the correct techniques and skills which will enable them to build mutually satisfying and quality relationships with their children.
