"The PET course is an eye-opener. I realised that my children are individuals with their own perceptions. I started treating them with more respect, and now they are treating each other with more respect."

In her own words

During December 1998 I read an article in a magazine regarding Parent Effectiveness Training (P.E.T.). Realising that my relationship with my children was not the way I wanted it to be, I enrolled for the course and completed it in January 1999. It was a life changing experience!

I completed the P.E.T. instructor’s course and officially started to present this course in 2001 after I’ve resigned as teacher.

P.E.T. stimulated me to commence with studies in psychology at the University of Pretoria in 2002, and I completed my BSocSci(Hons) in June 2008.I had to put being an active P.E.T. instructor on hold for a while, but again commenced presenting P.E.T. in January 2008.

What others say

“I think the course is perfect, appreciated the openness en honesty of Heidi’s presentation – especially the practical application of everyday stuff.”

“The whole presentation of the course makes sense and brought the realisation that as parent I don’t need to be in control all the time and don’t always have to have all the answers – the skills are practically and honestly presented.”

“I understand now why the relationship with my own parents is the way it is.”
