Venette is the mother of two boys. She is the owner of two nursery schools in Centurion, thus very familiar with the needs of parents with young children.

Class schedule:

Courses are presented over 8 weeks, one class of 3 hours per week. The next evening class starts on Tuesday 7 February, 2012,18:00 to 21:00, with the final class on 27 March, 2012.

In her own words

I attended a P.E.T. course when my eldest son was 18 months old. He was a busy toddler with a strong will and had frequent rage outbursts. I had no idea how to handle him. P.E.T. (D.O.L.) gave me insight in how to handle my child, and parenting again became a joy! I could apply the skills that I learnt to teach him to take responsibility for his own emotions, and watch how my son grew emotionally.

P.E.T. gives me the skills to guide my children to develop into mature youngsters, enabling them to reach their full potential one day. As my children grow older I appreciate more and more the benefits of good communication. Every day I realise that disagreement between me and my children has positive benefits, and that our relationship grows as we work out our differences. It’s magnificent to have an open, honest communication channel between me and my two sons.

During the daily contact with parents at the nursery schools, I became more and more aware of the incredible need of parents to have better relationships with their children, and decided to become an instructor in order to empower more parents through training in effective parenthood (P.E.T.)!
