STEPS TO BECOMING A CERTIFIED INSTRUCTOR
The Instructor Training Week is based on a “learning-by-doing” model. It combines instruction in the core content and skills with exercises providing practice in dealing with group dynamics and the process of teaching and facilitating Gordon Model programmes.
Becoming a P.E.T. Instructor is a four-step process:
Step 1 – Complete a 24-hour Parent Effectiveness Training course hosted by any of our certified P.E.T. instructors (click here for our upcoming course calendar).
PLEASE NOTE: You will not be allowed to register for the Instructor Training Week without proof of completing a Parent Effectiveness Training course.
Step 2 – Register and pay the Instructor Training Week fee R12 000. An early-bird discount and payment options are available, please refer to the registration form for more details. A deposit of R1750 secures your spot and also serves as your first payment of your full course fee.
PLEASE NOTE: You forfeit your deposit if you cancel your registration two weeks prior to the starting date of the course.
Step 3 – Complete the Instructor Training Week.
Step 4 – Teach a qualifying P.E.T. course and submit the participant evaluations to Parent & Educational Training CEO, Heidi Malan for review, final approval, and instructor certification.
As a fully qualified instructor you agree to participate in continued training through meetings, workshops, and attend fellow instructors' workshops on an ad hoc basis.
