Do I need to take a supplement? 10 Questions to find out

Updated: Apr 24, 2019

The purpose of food supplements is to deliver essential nutrients that might be absent, or perhaps of low quantity in the foods you consume. Nutrients include vitamins, minerals, amino acids, fatty acids, and other healthy substances.

Our bodies are supposed to be absorbing these nutrients via the food we eat, but because of our busy lifestyles and the mass production of less-effort processed foods, our intake of proper nutrients has declined.

A healthy balanced diet and exercise routine is still the number one solution for achieving optimal wellness.

A diet rich in whole grains, adequate protein, vegetables, fruits, and healthy fats should typically provide all the nutrients you need. However, if you are not able to follow a healthy diet or if you feel like you lack in some areas of the food chain then we recommend you try adding a supplement.

Our number one recommended brand of food supplements is Sportron. Sportron uses a technology called FoodState®. FoodState® supplements are the closest form of real food nutrition you can find. These nutrients are absorbed more effectively than other products and are retained up to 16 times longer by the body.

Think you need to take a supplement? Answer the following ten questions to find out. If you have answered more than six questions with a YES, you probably do not need supplementation.

  1. Are you younger than 35 years?

  2. Do you exercise three times per week for at least 45 minutes a session?

  3. Do you drink six to eight glasses of water a day?

  4. Do you eat fish at least two times per week?

  5. Do you sleep for at least seven hours at night?

  6. Are you maintaining a normal weight?

  7. Do you eat three portions of fruit or vegetables a day?

  8. Are you a non-smoker?

  9. Do you consume a minimal amount of alcohol monthly?

  10. There is no history of heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes or cancer in your family?

Remember that a high dosage of a nutrient is not the answer. Instead, you need to take the recommended amount, best prescribed by a healthcare professional, and stick to a balanced diet and exercise routine.

Sportron is all about preventative health; the company believes that it is more important to protect against future disease by obeying the principles of good health, than by being neglectful and careless.
